Patrick B. Reyes (STH '11) Joins FTE as Director of Strategic Partnerships
The Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE) has appointed School of Theology alumnus Dr. Patrick Reyes (MDiv ’11) to the position of director of strategic partnerships for doctoral initiatives. FTE, which describes itself as “a leadership incubator that inspires young people to make a difference in the world through Christian communities,” says that Reyes will be “responsible for managing the fellowship program for doctoral students, relationship building and providing support to leaders of theological institutions developing future leaders for the church and academy.”
Reyes’ previous experience includes assistant dean for Academic Affairs and director of the Center of Community Engagement at Trinity Lutheran College, and director of communications at Tools for Decision Group. In addition to his MDiv from Boston University School of Theology, he has a doctorate and Master of Arts from Claremont School of Theology and a Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Sacramento.
On the FTE website, Reyes describes the role that theological educators played in his own life story: “To put it simply, theological educators saved my life. At every major crossroads, a theologically trained elder was there to make a difference not just in my own life, but also in the lives of others in my community. It is humbling to do the sacred work of identifying, supporting, and placing the next generation of scholars and theological educators who are going to transform the academy, the church, and local communities.”
Congratulations to Reyes on his new role!
