
Angel Osorio Pizarro
Doctoral Student
Angel Osorio Pizarro is a doctoral student in educational studies with a specialization in mathematics and science education at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. His research interests focus on developing elementary science curricula and teaching strategies that enable students to think systemically and critically, and to leverage scientific inquiry towards helping their communities.
As a master’s student at the University of Pennsylvania, Angel completed a capstone thesis documenting his elementary students’ abilities to describe and provide solutions to systemic problems such as houselessness, climate change, and racism. Angel was also a policy fellow with Teach Plus Pennsylvania, where he collaborated alongside other teachers from the state to advocate for more equitable and efficacious teacher preparation programs.
