Goldman School of Dental Medicine – Construction Update – 2/23/18

This notification comes to you as we have reached a milestone in the addition and renovation project at the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. We have received approval to mobilize at the site (that is, to begin the construction project) this Saturday, February 24, 2018.

Saturday’s activities will include setting jersey barriers along Albany Street and East Newton Street, creating a path of travel for pedestrians on the sidewalks; the entrances to the building will not be affected. The jersey barriers will be set within the bike lane, resulting in the removal of that lane and of the adjacent parking meters. No mobilization will take place on Sunday, February 25, 2018.

During the week of February 26:
We will begin installing fencing
around the perimeter of the site and revamp pedestrian travel paths. Please be aware of all directional signage. Your safety is imperative!

Demolition will begin at the East Newton Street entrance in order to enable the installation of the temporary handicap lift. The existing handicap ramp and entrance will remain open until the new handicap lift is operational. Demolition will also begin  at the existing loading dock along Albany Street.

During the week of March 5:
We will begin construction of the temporary handicap lift and the reworked loading dock. For details, please refer to the logistics plan.
